Ingredients
- 1 cup oats (old fashioned)
- 1 cup oats, steel cut
- 2 cup buttermilk
- ½ cup oil
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cup whole wheat flour (or white flour)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoons salt, (optional)
- ½ cup raisins or other dried fruit, (optional)
- ½ cup chopped nuts, (optional)

Great Grains Oatmeal Muffins. To import, drag image to your MacGourmet recipe box.
Directions
1. Beat eggs in large mixing bowl.
2. Add buttermilk, oil, brown sugar, salt, and oats.
3. Combine flour, baking powder, and baking soda separately, then combine with egg mixture.
4. Add fruit and nuts, if desired.
5. Fill greased muffin tins 0.75 full and bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes , or until golden.
Rolled oats may be substituted for steel cut oats.
NOTE: A good-tasting, grainy muffin. Next time you might want to add some blue-berrys or such.
