As the aqueous exploration proceeds, a cardinal appears (his Eminence Cardinalis cardinalis), apparently lost on his pilgrimage to Rome.
Exploring is difficult work, often requiring medication. Here we see a sample of one of the island's traditional medicines, a libation known as kimotherapy.
The remedy evokes disturbing feelings of violence, which the natives say can be assuaged at this local temple.
