Day Four-point-two - the cave
Making its way south and east, the expedition approaches the slopes of cloud-wreathed Haleakala, at the base of which they have been told of a secret cavern.
This cavern, carved out of the mountainside by the hands of some unknown race, is now the site of a sacred subterranean garden.
Here one may find row upon row of alohashirt vines, bearing their brightly marked fruits beneath the chthonic farm's luminescent ceiling.
Some of the fruit bear the signs and tokens of a holy priest.
And all is overseen by the cavern's totem, guardian of these plutonian pastures.
