LEDCs are Less Economically Developed Countries. Typically, people in LEDCs are farmers. Manufacturing is poorly developed as is the country's infrastructure of roads, rail, electricity, water treatment and sewage disposal. As a result, the standard of living is low, with high death rates, high infant mortality, low levels of literacy and low life expectancies.
