Loren Petrich's Marathon Gallery

Here are some screenshots of Marathon 2 I have made; most of them feature a monster called a F'lickta, which I find rather charming.

Those Flashers Are So SICK!!! [55K]

Here is a collage of several shots of a very beautiful room, or at least a room which I find beautiful:

The Great Waterfall Hall of Lh'owon [355K]

These are not directly from the game, but from 3D models produced from some of the levels with my Marathon Map Exporter, and subsequently imported into Bryce 3D, with which I added a surface texture and a landscape setting (Bryce is from MetaCreations).

I made the shots of the game in action by pressing "%", then when I wanted to capture something, I did the usual MacOS screenshot command of command-shift-3 (yes, that symbol key :-). The "%" is a command that allows other running stuff to have CPU time, and that becomes noticeable by the rendering slowing down (one can check on the frame rate by pressing "?"). Another "%" can undo it, as can another "?".

I then clipped away all the extraneous stuff with the help of the Equilibrium DeBabelizer, which is conveniently automatable, something which Adobe Photoshop is not (however, Photoshop 4 now has some automation features). However, I did use Photoshop to brighten the images, and also to prepare the waterfall collage.
