However, the game's creators appear to have run out of money, and they have yet to find a publisher for it. I suggest that they open-source their game, so that all its content does not go to waste. So if the verb tenses in the rest of my discussion look screwy ("will" instead of "would" or "would have"), it's because I have not bothered to rewrite these documents. So please make the appropriate substitutions where necessary.
This game will have its own official website, Duality.net, which I hope will match the quality of Bungie.net. There had been some fan websites, such as Baba Yaga's, buis's, and Ophelan's www.dualism.org, but they are all gone. However, one can see some articles I had written for that site.
Duality will include a rather extensive set of tools for creating game objects and environments. The one for the 3D stuff is Sandbox, covered in more detail in my Sandbox page. There will also be an editor called "Toybox", which will cover most of what is not edited in Sandbox. No screenshots of it have been made available, however, though it will probably be used for adding artwork, sounds, and miscellaneous data ("physics models" in Marathon parlance). There will also be a tool for doing lighting maps ("Lightcaster"), and a tool called GuideC, for creating action scripts.
There are still many unanswered questions about Duality, and I have various speculations about them:
