Last Day's Hike to Phinaya

We hike out to the village of Phinaya, which is at the end of a new road. Then a long drive back to Cusco.

Sunrise on the last day. Final leg to Phinaya. How about that - overnight snow again! The llamas don't seem very concerned with the snow. Gathering all the gear. Laguna Ccascamacocha, one of the highest lakes. 4,930m/16,175 ft Another alpaca herd along the lake. Very bright and clear air. What a place to live! Stop for a snack break. The snow is almost all melted again. Wide open high plain. A curious llama. Some colorful alpaca. The town of Phinaya, the end of our hike. The cooks prepare one last lunch. Lunch break before continuing the long drive back to Cusco.
