I will occasionally check the above links to check that they still live, but if you come across any better sources then please let me know.

Fortunately for all the lazy aspect of my personality, other people have done an awful lot of this work for me. To them, my thanks. To you, the benefit of their hard work.

I have split the links into 5 sections. I am not putting in many links (no need as others have) but just enough to help point you in the right direction and a couple of my preferred places. One list of links (background knowlegde to aid solving clues) is on the left-hand panel in all crossword related web pages. The remaining sections are:

  1. Crossword listing sites - provide a huge number of crossword links, including on-line versions
  2. On-line crosswords - just a couple
  3. Support for solving crosswords - if you just can't solve them yourself
  4. Widgets for cruciverbalists - yep the de rigeur Mac user lover-in

If you have any links you want added to the page, - happy to consider - just email me. Basically, I don't intend to add any links if they don't enhance options, are political, commercial, boring, or otherwise offend my refined foppish sensibilities.

Web pages with crossword links by the billion

These sites have links to a number of on-line and printable crosswords. They also have links to crossword resources like anagram solvers, gap fillers, software etc. and other puzzles. Really great work.

On-Line Crosswords I like

Whilst some of the links below are for subscription based crosswords, they include the iconic Times puzzle, the odd Private Eye cruciverbalism, Chamber's monthly challenge, and the Cryptic pleasure I cut my teeth on - the Telegraph.

Help to Solve Clues

There are some clues that you will struggle to get an answer to. It can be very frustrating. If you cannot wait for the answers to become available, then these can help.

Widgets for Cruciverbalists

In danger of hitting nerd-overload (thank you Dr Seuss), combining geek love of macs with crossword solving, as I find widgets that help, a link will magically appear. All I need is a way to build in commics and science fiction and then, well, I would be unable to function or probabaly socialise.
