The Springtime In Sweden edition was a very special Saab 900 turbo Convertible sold to US dealers. It has been rather more difficult to find out information about this particular model of Saab Convertible than the others.

The main reason for this is that the Springtime in Sweden (SiS) was not a regular option program. You could not just waltz into a dealership and request one. Annually, Saab USA hosts a get-together for their dealers. In 1988, each dealer received one of these convertibles. Many kept them, others sold them. The photos on this page are of a SiS Convertible owned by Raj Tuli of Pennsylvania.

Only 288 were made, one for each dealer.

The exterior received the 'SPG' treatment. Black paint, badge deletes, aerodynamic body mouldings, and three-spoke alloy wheels said this was no ordinary Saab Convertible.

Inside, there was the commemorative badge (above), a special steering wheel (below) and dark grey leather seats. Quite a stunning package!
