DescriptionLake Cresent is a freshwater lake on the Olympic Pennensula. The attraction of this lake is it's excellent visibility (100+ feet) and relatively warm waters in the summer time. It makes for a great lake to practice deep technical dives. Nice and warm deco stops! Diver's must bring and use a dive flag, or the Park Rangers will issue you a citation. Watch out for boats! LocationLake Cresent is on any highway map. It's near Port Angeles. The site I dive is a turnoff on the east side, right after a public park area. There should be a tall cliff on the other side of the road. You can get accurate directions from the book: "Northwest Shore Dives"
GPS Coordinates:N 48° 04.330' W 123° 46.399' CommentsLake Cresent is fun to dive about every 6 months. It's fun to go up there in the summer time and do some "bridge jumping", and to play around in Lake. It can get pretty dang cold up there in the Winter time. As dive sites go, it's a must-do just for the good visibility. I give this site one Thumb Up on the Parker Scale. |
