Friends of the Kalderimi
The countryside is laced with paths and tracks, some leading from village to village, others leading to orchards and homes. You can wander freely and explore, but you may come to some dead ends! The walks listed below are clearly marked or easy to find, and take you to set destinations. The routes are along a mixture of unpaved roads, monopatis (footpaths), and kalderimis (cobbled paths). Please respect the countryside, don't throw lit cigarettes away or light fires, and please take your rubbish with you.

The above routes are maintained by the Friends of the Kalderimi, an organisation run by local volunteers who put their time and efforts into clearing and re-opening traditional paths. If you would like to help clear a kalderimi (hard work, unpaid, and very rewarding), please get in touch and we'll pass you on to the organisers. Please donate a euro for the map when you pass a donation box (located wherever maps are available). All money goes directly into maintaining and expanding he routes.

The above routes are unmarked, or are only marked along some of their route. They are along monopatis (earth footpaths), are not maintained, but are accessible throughout the route.
