some freelance work?Had quite a nice surprise just now, and
quite a surprise at that.
Some of you will recall that I spent much of the summer hoping for a job at That Company, a small consulting firm that specializes in healthcare work related to infectious diseases. Late July, those dreams were deflated with news that oh, by the way, they'd actually hired two people as associates and might hire another in September, but couldn't say. Since I still had the main-office phone
number in my mobile, sometime last week I randomly decided to call them back. I
didn't reach my contact, so had to leave a message. Within a day or two, I
upgraded my phone, losing most of the numbers in it since they hadn't properly
been transfered to my SIM card (grrrrrrr). This included, of course, That
Company's number.
I gave it no more thought until this afternoon when to my surprise I discovered an email from that contact. His reason? Apparently they have a small project and wonder if I'd be available. No word yet on what this could entail, but I'm pleasantly surprised, to say the least ... and trying to nurture caution alongside hope. posted @ 04:47 PM on Mon - September 13, 2004 remark!
