More on possible workAbout a week ago, I reported an email from That Company, the employer I was
pining over for much of the summer ("all my eggs in one basket" ... etc.). The
message wasn't very detailed, but mentioned possibility of a "small project" for
me to work on.
This afternoon I got more details. It was a brief conversation, following nominal emails last week (result: I was asked to call this week). But the big news is: tomorrow I have a 10:30 a.m. appointment in their offices that will precede an 11 a.m. conference call it sounds like I will sit in on. Christi puts on swank "consultant" hat. As I said, the details were limited.
However, apparently the president of a major client is coming into town for some
meetings or something. That Company is evidently organizing a round table
involving people from a prominent policy non-profit ... and somehow they want me
to get involved in all of this!
I don't know what all I'll be asked to do (judging from the brief conversation, it could be a lot), but perhaps all that persistence will finally pay off. If you're the praying sort, pray that I'd have wisdom in the money-haggling part of conversation. I have no idea what to expect. And if you're the scarf-wearing sort, don't forget I can put my fingers to work making you a custom-designed cold-weather accessory. ;) posted @ 02:44 AM on Tue - September 21, 2004 remark!
