nyj56: almost nuthin' to report

Sorry I haven't been posting more this week; it's been slow compared to the last two weeks when I was freelancing for That Company ... but obviously not slow enough for me to blog on this site (though, to be confessed, there have been regularish updates on the other blog).

A couple excuses I will muster: a) Tuesday-night Bible study caused me to miss the Veep debate (sniff-sniff), and Wednesday my kitchen was turned into a Betty Crocker test kitchen as I made not one, not two, but three batches of cinnamon rolls before hitting on a satisfactorily enticing-but-dairy-free version for a friend who, um, won a certain contest on the other blog (hey, email for the link if you want in on some of that action). But I didn't figure you wanted endless reports on my further developments into that Queen of the Granola Freaks, the girl who uses rice milk, soy milk and soy magic "buttery sticks" (yes, yellow and all) ... hence, no blogging.

But while I'm blogging, let me mention a very intriguing and thoughtfully written entry on Everyday Apocalypse. Sometimes it feels like I'm the only one occasionally sweating out the spiritual implications of this or that minor habit/act/form of amusement, but I think Ben actually puts me to shame with the thoughtfulness of his reflection here.

Update
Too bad Ben has since taken his blog down! Oh well. With any luck I'll be able to wheedle him into a revised version for the New Pantagruel ...
