nyj52: persistence pays off*

*Somewhat.

As previously announced, I've recently had contact with That Company. Tuesday's 10:30 appointment (for which I was late — don't ask) led to something like five hours' work in their office. For at least the near future, I will continue to be working full-time days there, on a project related to a late-October event they're planning.

The payment terms are reasonable, I think (though probably I could have negotiated harder — and would've, if I'd had a man's aggression; sigh), and there was even mention of a full-time, permanent admin. job they're hiring for. For now I'm happy to have temporary work, and a chance to see if I can keep living on an unemployment budget with normal-employment wages.

The previous God-talk entry notwithstanding, I've lately been very convicted about my finances and tackling my debt — in large part, with a view to possible marriage in the next few years. Assuming that could happen, I'd much better start trying to pay the debt down now than wait until I'm actually "in a relationship" to tackle the problem.

Oy. Self-control is such fun. :-o But getting to renew my stand-up knitting skills (on crowded morning trains into the city) ... kinda fun. ;) And knitting produces a little income of its own, after all.
