nyj34: new address (stats on my apt.-hopping)


Time again for an address-book update. Because… New York move #3, to apartment #4 (a considerable feat for my 20 months’ residence in the city*) commences Saturday, Apr. 17. For those of you living in the area, e-vites to the yet-to-be scheduled housewarming party will surely go out sometime in the near future (hint: my roommate makes excellent sangria).

Zip and land line stay the same, so your revised address entry for Christi Foist should read:

For those who like to read my occasional update/emails, another one is in the works. Old update/essays are s-l-o-w-l-y being posted to my homepage in pseudo-blog fashion. If you want off that list, shoot me an email. If you think occasional doses of Christi-zaniness re: life might produce a few welcome chuckles, respond to this email and ask to be included. Feel free to provide your current contact details as well (I’m registered with Plaxo if that means anything to you), so I can send you postcards from my next international trip (hey, the last stop was New Zealand; it might be worth your while ;)).

You can still use my work address, but be warned that I’m also moving jobs the end of this month … to an office still unknown. Details coming soon, but only for those on my informal update/essay subscription list. ;)

Wish this could include a whiff of the lovely fresh hyacinths perfuming my otherwise-bland office desk!

downside: basement electrical fire on coldest day of winter, tiny bedroom, close proximity to truck route and bus stop

reason: accommodate W’burg roommates’ desire to live with college friend
upside: 3 blocks from Prospect Park, fabulous new roommate
downside: crazy, sketchy sublet drama
tenancy: 8 months

mileage: 0.6
reason: landlady’s 90-something mother needs to climb up and down the stairs to our 2nd-floor apartment
upside: a lease of our own, expanded train options, community garden on the same block
downside: smaller living room, loss of sublease woman’s “parlor chic” furnishings
