nyj53: Eek!

Flowers no more.

If it weren't bad enough that occasionally I have to deal with the incursion of roaches into my blogging space, this morning I happened to look over and spy two nearly inch-long caterpillars crawling around on the flowers plucked so romantically and stealthily a couple days ago (there's a moral to this story, I suspect). One had already escaped the petal pleasantries and was crawling around on my alarm clock.

For a moment of course, I froze in vulnerable indecision. Barefoot. Alone. Within inches of the invaders.

Then, mustering my gumption, I lured one and then the other onto a T-Mobile business card from my desk (this, too, seems suggestive, somehow) before shaking both into my shot-glass "vase." One fell straight into the water and presumably drowned. The other, alas, was clever enough to grab the wall. Prisoners thus in hand, I marched to the bathroom where they were administered a picturesque death, depicted for your morning amusement here. If you squint ... well, take my word for it, the little black speck near the top of one of the petals is one of the hapless creatures.

Too much time on my hands?! Oh, you have no idea ... Although there is some work this morning. I have to delete certain line items from a spreadsheet for a client.
