Child of God, are you sick in mind or body today? Are you in a desperate financial state? Are you being dominated by anxious and fearful thoughts? Well, take heart, because our heavenly Father is eagerly desiring to extend His healing power and blessings upon you. Our God is a generous giver who never changes. There are literally hundreds of scriptures in the Bible concerning God's healing mercies for His children. I want to focus on one particular scripture that is often overlooked as a healing scripture, and that is Psalm 34:10, in which the psalmist writes, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, "They who seek the Lord shall not be in want of any good thing." Now let's meditate on this word from the Lord for a moment. Ponder some of those "good things", and take them to heart. Make yourself a list. Certainly a healthy body is a good thing. Surely a sound mind, a mind at rest, and happy and peaceful emotions are all good things. Surely freedom from fear and anxiety, and right relationships with family members all come under the category of good things also. And what about freedom from want of financial provisions? That is absolutely a good thing. God eagerly desires His children to have all these good things. We do not worship and serve a stingy, harsh judgmental God. He is full of lovingkindness and tender mercies towards all, according to Psalm 145. Fix in your mind the kindest, most loving and giving person you have ever known. For me it is my own mother and father. And yet Jesus clearly said that if even earthly parents long to give good gifts to their children, HOW MUCH MORE will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask Him. You see, the deepest natural human love is but a dim shadowy reflection of the supernatural love of God. After all, God IS love. You may be asking then, why am I lacking these good things today? The Bible tells us that we need to seek the Lord, and then we will not be lacking. And we seek the Lord by getting alone with Him every day and spending time with Him. Not crying, begging, pleading, like some poor orphan child who doesn't have a relationship with Him, but as one of His own dear children. We spend time meditating in His Word, meditating on His goodness and love. We ask the Holy Spirit for help in revealing to us the fullness of the things freely given to us by God. And then as the reality of His goodness begins to dawn in our hearts, we reach out and take hold of these good things by faith and ask, believing that we receive those things we ask for AS WE PRAY. And we do not wait for some sign of change in our circumstances before we believe. Faith believes without having to see. Then we begin to thank Him for those good things that are ours. We have made connection with a supernatural loving God. It's not a transaction that takes place in a hurried anxious moment. We must take time to wait upon the Lord, and allow Him to become a reality to us during our time of prayer and meditation. In our prayer of faith, we have begun a process that will ultimately result in our needs being met. It is like planting a seed. We don't expect it to sprout overnight, but we do expect a favorable outcome. Jesus said, "Ask and you SHALL receive." He cannot lie. For this we must have patience, and hold fast our confidence. Continual meditation on the promises of God and fixing our eyes on Jesus and not on our circumstances enables us to maintain our confidence. It's no fun when your body is hurting. It's no fun when your mind is under continual torment. I know, I've been there. But God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tested beyond what you are capable, and when sufferings abound, His grace abounds even more, and you'll make it. YOU'LL MAKE IT.
