"Wicked Dark"

It is wicked dark and lonely on the roads in New Hampshire at this time of year. No street lights, only your headlights and the night sky. The trees are a border of darkness and their branches reach into the night sky, trying to snag the clouds and the stars. The roads seem to lead into the night sky itself. The other night, Venus or Mars was hopping about in the sky, and I decided I would try to capture our wild night on canvas.

Much thanks to Donna and Dan who helped name this painting. Their wonder and joy at how wicked dark it was out here during their visit, and their corroboration that this painting captured the feeling, synched the title for the painting.
