Ah, the welcoming stance of two young girls. My husband has already nicknamed it "Diss Stance." Of course, he is looking at it from his memories of that age, and I from mine. At an age where gender relations are being sorted out ad nauseam.

The blue pops against the yellow, and I am pleased with the backlighting effects on the figures. Balancing the level of abstraction was interesting to me. I think I am balanced, but the urge to add realism into the arms and hands is like a magnetic pull, probably because I used flesh tones. But that wouldn't work for the painting - an impressionistic/post-impressionistic approach is the answer. And I like the brush work that defines the arms.

This is a fun painting, and the subject differs from my faces. I hope you enjoy it!
