This is a running list of contemporary artists I have noticed as bordering my own or stimulating my imagination. Some of them I have met in my travels, some I happened upon and others were recommended to me. Check back from time to time for new additions.

Martin Heinig - A German artist who paints expressionistic faces at a LARGE scale.
Renee Brown - Her series on chefs is outstanding.
Marco Sassone - Passionate portraits rich with feeling.
Nancy MacDonald - Beautiful pastel portraits with splashes of brilliant color.
Martina Shapiro - Contemporary figure painting and landscapes in beautiful colors.
David Park - (1911-1960) Bay Area Figurative Artist who loved painting the human face.
Lisa Spinella - Colorful figurative paintings that are a lot of fun.
Stephen Gjertson - I especially like the portraits of his family. A modern realist.
Steven J. Levin - Another modern realist. I love his people in places series.
Robert Andes - A portrait artist who also works in oils. He uses real color but paints in a contemporary style. I especially like his portraits of "Amber", "Justin" and "Curt".
Dena Lyons - An interesting vision of people and places.
Jack Morefield - Large scale celebrity portraits in patterns and colors that will knock your socks off.
Gillian Haven - I like her portraits of children with animals and textiles. Very romantic style, almost pre-raphaelite.
Jerry Waese -I become wickedly jealous when viewing these masterpieces! He makes it look so effortless!
Joel Cooper - Digital painter who work produces amazing portraits!
Dornberg - I like how he places objects to suit his composition.
John Preble - Louisiana artist who paints the faces of the Creole.
Tadashi Asoma - Very beautiful colorful art. Serene.
Adeline Goldminc-Tronzo - Portraits with personality! She's local, too! Eliot, ME.
Douglass Truth - I love his vision of the world as conveyed through his art.
Daniel Rozin - Interactive mirrors and art. Fascinating and brilliant! And mind boggling!
Alberto Sughi - Figurative paintings that speak emotions.
Liz Gribin - Figures curiously woven with their surroundings.
Elena Sisto - Portraits of imagined girls.
Levent Akayli - Figurative artist that plays with foreground, background and contours.
Jo Adang - People that feel familiar in fields of beautiful color.
