I'm
getting my XR ready for another trip to Carlisle, PA for the All-Ford
Nationals. Haven't done much to the Merkur recently, since I
kinda got into motorcycles over the last year or so. I blew
the headgasket in August or something and I finally got around to
fixing it. Built a new alternator bracket today (again...)
I intend to work on my tune a little more before leaving for
Pennsylvania on June 3rd. Keeping it to 12 psi this time
around... no more 20 psi experimentation. I
measured the chamber volume of my head and it turns out the static
compression ratio is around 10:1. I believe the B234 head was
shaved quite a bit due to damage from a foreign object bouncing around
in a chamber - there are small indentations visible near the perimeter
of one of the bowls. I am using stock 2.3T pistons for the
time being.
