Extreme Makeover: Self-Edition



After a week of feeling like a big blob of sniffling ick, I decided to do something I haven't done in over SIX months .... are you ready?? (drum-roll, please)

I got A HAIRCUT!!!

(Amazing, isn't it!?) LOL.

So here's the deal... I'm great at making quick business decisions on where to spend $ but HATE spending cash on myself ... especially on things like haircuts and coloring (luckily this one was free or I might have never made it there at 8:30 on a Saturday morning!) I'm frugal like my grandparents that grew up in the depression era. My mom cut my hair when I was little, and even though it was sometimes crocked in the back, it always worked well for me to the point I forget it's been half-a-year before I get a chop. I'd be in SERIOUS trouble if I was a dude.

Then today after church we skipped the usual lunch-with-the-masses routine and headed to Lenox instead. After another cup of chicken noodle soup and a quick breeze through the Crate & Barrel , Anthropologie , and The Mac store , Kimberly convinced me to sit with her at the OTHER M.A.C. store and soon I found myself with a full face of make-up. I used to work with a lot of M.A.C. artists on fashion shoots and thought it a little too much for wear personally, but the colors are just so preeeettty.....

Still not sure on the verdict, but here's the "after" shot ... after I zonked out for a nap (it stays on) .... ta-dah.




PS.... Like my new green walls? I was sure I'd paint my dining room this Ralph Lauren "torch" metallic gold but opted for "Olive Tree" instead. Who would have thought I'd ever paint a room pea green? It's beyond me but I'm loving it so far....

Who are you?



One of the first things I do when I check out a company online is look at the "About" or "Bio" section. If I'm going to spend some $$ on a product or service I want to see who's behind it all. There's something about putting a face & story to the rest of it that makes it easier to decide who to go with... or at the very least recognize them when it comes time to meet in-person ;)

I've done my fair share of portraits / head shots for realtors, actors, models, performers, and many small business owners but it's always us photographers that fall guilty of neglecting to put up that darn bio pic (you see, we like to be on the OTHER side of the camera for a reason).

For those that have been asking... we DO schedule portraits/headshots during the week when we're in town - sessions are $199 for a 1/2 hour session and half goes towards a print credit. Great for "match" pics too (yes, we get asked a LOT about those!)

While we were in Cabo a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to get a few shots of some of the photographers that attended (time to update bio pics) and they're evidence that they can work BOTH sides of the camera ;)

lucky


Hi Everyone... meet Lucky.

Lucky is a BUG, also known as a Buggle.

Lucky looooooves her aunt Liana because she won't leave her alone long enough to even type this.

Liana loves Lucky and thinks she's REAL cute but has lots and lots and lots of work to do.

Liana told Lucky she's cuter than a Pug and Beagle combined (oh, guess that's what she is!) but she has to stop spazzzzing out and licking her toes because they're full of slobber now.

Then Lucky made these cute faces .....so Liana's probably not going to get much work done today...



Okay... story over. Yep, I'm up in Ohio today through Sunday to shoot a wedding and visit family. If you don't get an email reply right away... blame it on lucky ;)

Ohhh... it looks like she gave up and might be taking a nap now... time to go have a movie/work marathon....
