Ms. McVay is a member of the American College of Musicians/Piano Guild.

During her career, she has served as an active member of the Music Teachers National Association, the Philadelphia Music Teachers Association and the Northern Delaware Valley Chapter of M.T.A.
She has served on the Executive Boards of these organizations
as program chair, vice president and performance festival coordinator.

She has studied the innovative work of Dorothy Taubman, the founder of the Taubman Institute. The Taubman technique simultaeously promotes relaxation and musicality while preventing hand injuries common to
older teaching disciplines.
