More on Keynote 2.0 in Tiger - what kinds of effects I'd like to see

In an earlier blog entry, I wrote of a Virtual Reality presentation using Apple's Keynote I am preparing.

Now, a video editor friend in New York has sent me a preview of a new project where he placed movies on still images precisely aligning with objects such as roofs, buildings, billboards as if they were painted on them. He did it with Avid. I had a slide doing something similar in my presentation.

Here's hoping a Keynote 2.0 allowed for my precise placing of Quicktime movies, including depth angle to give a sense of perspective. Here's a slide I used to give you an idea of what can be done currently with Keynote.

It shows a family sitting around a home theatre (c.1912), using an Edison projector and about to watch an Edison movie of 1887. I'm using the Titanium theme. Imagine if you are only used to seeing dull text-filled Powerpoint shows...

See the whole show in my blog entry below...

We start with a jpg showing a home theatre c. 1912

I highlight the Edison Kinetoscope projector

The credit rolls, announcing an Edison 1887 movie

...and the movie rolls on the still screen!

We transition out using the Cube for a movement effect...
