Garden 3-10-03

After just a few days of warmer weather, things are popping up. Some bulbs I'd just about given up on peeped up through the ground today. Now if only the fritillaries would come up!

Supposedly Fragrant Gladiolus (my nose doesn't detect a thing).
Close-up. Maybe no smell, but definitely beautiful.
"Fairy Peach" Chinese tree peony in full bloom.
"Sapphire" Chinese Tree Peony.

Several stock in bloom (backed by native thistle, Circium occidentale)
Probably the most beautiful China rose "Irčne Watts"
"Salmon Shades" Ranunculus
"Salmon Shades" Ranunculus buds
One of the "Bermuda Mystery Roses" known as "Brightside Cream." Probably a tea.
A wonderful bearded iris called "Sunny Shoulders"
The biggest clump of Dutch iris I've ever had.

More stock. I often wish I could transmit fragrance on a webpage.

An almost ever-blooming Alstroemeria. It's actually a much deeper red than here.
