     Kauai: Island of Land!

Here are some quick photos from Kauai. I say "quick" because they are compressed more than I usually like, just to get them small and out the door.

Here's where we stayed, with the "Bali Hai" mountains in the background.
The house from the beach, which was, literally, steps away.
And on that beach, dramatic, huge (sometimes 10-foot) waves!
This beach tree was being held up only by its roots. Yow!
Part of a full rainbow. What's Hawaii without rainbows?
From our beach again. About two miles down the beach, the Na Pali coast begins.
The Na Pali coast. No roads, only a treacherous, muddy trail for hiking.
At a "hidden" Na Pali beach, there's this sea cave.
Here's Spouting Horn on the south side. Like Old Faithful, but not geothermal.
After driving around the entire island, the other side of Na Pali!
From the Na Pali overlook, a fiery sunset (and radar thingy).
Finally, here we is in front of the Kilauea lighthouse.
