A curious incident at the 7-11.
They looked like they had been drenched in flour. A man in his twenties and a little boy of six or seven. On the counter, the boy had placed a bottle each of Tropicana Twister and C2, and a box of chocolate pretzels. The man ahead of them in line quietly pushed several folded twenty-peso bills in front of the boy, and then left. Nonplussed, the two paid for their items and turned around to leave. The cashier said, "Binigay niya 'yan sa iyo (He gave that to you)," pointing to the bills. That was the only time the boy touched the money and put it in his pocket.
Gifts are what they are.
