Radio pens.

I recently acquired these. Before fountain pens, all pens were dip pens, and when you said pens, that's what you meant. Kind of like the retronym "acoustic guitar." Mom called them "pen points."

My favorite of these is the Falcon pen.

Someone on the Fountain Pen Network remarked that attaching the word "radio" to the pens might have been the marketer's way of associating the pens with the modernity and technology of radios at the time. A hundred years from now, people might wonder why every product and its grandchild had to have an "i" in front.
