A slam-bang but conventionally plotted James
Bond adventure pits 007 (Pierce Brosnan) against a crazed media
mogul (Jonathan Pryce) who has instigated a military crisis
between Great Britain and China. Michelle Yeoh and Teri Hatcher
are the film's “Bond girls.” Roger Spottiswoode
directed. The 18th chapter in the Bond series was filmed on
location in Thailand and Hamburg, Germany.

Daniel Craig is aces in his first go-round
as British secret agent James Bond, who tries his hand at outwitting
a terrorist banker (Mads Mikkelsen). Ripping spy jinks with
Eva Green as the Bond girl and Judi Dench as M. Directed by
Martin Campbell. This is the third Bond film to carry the title
"Casino Royale." There was a 1954 TV version with
Barry Nelson and a 1967 spoof with David Niven.

Thanks to the marvelous direction of John
Glen, who once worked as an editor on the classic Avengers TV
series, this is perhaps the best of the Roger Moore Bond films.
Here an aging 007 and the lovely Carole Bouquet race Soviet
agents to the bottom of the sea to recover a secret device lost
in a shipwreck.
