Thanks to everyone who braved the protests and tore themselves away from CNN last Friday to check out the band! Our opening band, First Day Spaces, blew everyone away, they were awesome! It was quite a night of music! Our next gig will be Saturday April 5 at La Barca - a San Francisco hot spot. La Barca is an outstanding Mexican restaurant (with a happening bar!) in the Marina District, and has perhaps the finest margaritas in the city. Come by, have a nice Mexican dinner and hear the band and maybe even dance a little. Should be a great time! (Parking should be pretty straightforward - either on the street, or there is an inexpensive parking garage across the street from the restaurant.) The band would like to thank everyone who came out to La Barca last month to hear us. It was quite the wild evening!! There was a lot of great dancing, and even the slightly tipsy individual who started rapping through the mic sounded great! We will be playing next on Friday March 21 at Skip's Tavern. This will be an extra special evening of music, as we will be appearing with First Day Spaces (www.firstdayspaces.com). They will entertain your ears with their eclectic, elastic, spacious electric grooves. These guys are not to be missed; we are stoked to be playing with them! The music starts around 8:30 pm with First Day Spaces, Led Airegin will take over the sonic spectrum around 10:00 pm, give or take a little, and the fun will last at least until 1:00 am. We've added new tunes including a Bobby Darin chestnut - we know no boundaries!! For those of you who have not been there before, Skip's is located in the Bernal Heights part of San Francisco at 453 Cortland Ave, cross street is Andover. There's no cover. Thanks to everyone who braved the crazy weather to check out the band at Skip's. The crowd was great, and the candy canes were sweet! Also, in what has to be a first in the history of music, a Miles Davis tune sparked an altercation in the audience! Miles - who'd a thunk it?!?! We will be playing next at La Barca in San Francisco on Friday January 10, 9:00 pm - 1:00 am. La Barca is located at 2036 Lombard St (between Webster and Fillmore streets). Our next date will be at Skip's Tavern (San Francisco) on Saturday December 14 from 9:00 pm - 1:00 am. It will be the last chance to see the band this year! What's new? Well, we'll be breaking out a couple of holiday tunes (done Led Airegin style of course), and continue to expand our forays playing with special singers. We will also be supplying candy canes!! Thanks everyone for coming out to La Barca on November 6 to hear the band - it was another blowout show! We might have even had a fire code violation for too many people in the venue at one time! Special guest vocalist Sara Staley really added a ton of pizzazz to the proceedings, and based on the audience response (and the band's fun quotient), we'll hope to perform with her again soon!

The band was very privileged to play at the first annual Skip's Jazz Festival. The Festival was over two consecutive nights, and Led Airegin played the second night. It was an extremely musical evening (and a great crowd!), starting off with the Lab Rats playing a tremendous improvisational set, followed by Doni Harvey playing and singing solo blues guitar (incredible), Led Airegin (with Tim Kurteff sitting in on drums and doing a great job, and special guest hotshot guitarist George Adelson joining us), then the swinging straight jazz of the Al Pacheco Jazz Band. The whole evening was a total blast, and with luck, we'll be asked to play again at the next one.

Hello Friends and Music Lovers - Just wanted to let you all know that after a quiet summer (though there was a wedding gig that got closed down by the police!), Led Airegin will be appearing in public with our party faces on! We'll be playing in San Francisco at Skip's Tavern in Bernal Heights from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am. Date: Saturday October 5. There's no cover. Hey Friends - Just a quick update - the band is still laying kind of low for a while, no club dates for a while. We're still adding new tunes, doing some private events, and are hoping to get a demo together this summer. We will keep you posted on the next gigs in public. We plan to scope out some venues in other parts of San Francisco, as well as the East Bay, so stay tuned! Until then, we hope everyone is doing well!

Another super THANKS from the band to everyone who came out on March 23 to hear us at Skip's! Thanks for providing so much energy! It was another super fun evening, and Groove Hound really funkified that corner of the universe!!! They are definitely a band to keep an eye (and ear) on! The band is going to lay low (in the public eye at least) during April, to hone some new tunes and explore new sounds. We'll re-emerge in May with new tunes, and a fresh, late Spring/early Summer look!

Greetings Fellow Music Lovers

The band would like to shout out a super "THANKS" to everyone who came out to hear us on February 23. The band had a great time, and from the looks of things, a lot of you did, as well! It was the first time we've ever had to have the cops show up to one of our gigs, and hopefully, the last! :-) We will be playing at Skip's again in March, and the evening looks to be extra special - Led Airegin is pleased and honored to be double billing with the newest soul-jazzers on the scene!! They are unstoppable, they are deep, they have decoded the puzzle of the funk, they are the Groove Hounds. You won't want to miss this one! The Groove Hounds consist of Jeff Prinz postulating poetically on the horns, Ernie Chow divining the mysteries of the well-tempered keyboard, Russ Vernick sharing the groove generously on guitar, Russ Ginsberg boldly booming on bass, and Robert Ryder pushing the people to power on percussion. Two guys named Russ in the same band, how can that happen!??!?!

There's no cover. It's a pretty cool place, with just the right amount of funk to keep it real. Skip's is located at 453 Cortland Ave, and the cross street is Andover. (Note: there is a parking lot right next to the tavern that belongs to the grocery store across the street. As of this writing it is OK to park in that lot only after 9:00 pm.) The Groove Hounds will start emanating the funky vibrations at 8:30 pm, and Led Airegin will attempt to maintain the motion from just before 10:00 pm to 1:00 am (or later!). As always, Led Airegin will be playing new tunes so the experience is always fresh!!! Continuing in our schizophrenic ways, we'll be adding numbers ranging from country blues to a Frank Sinatra number (!).

We would like to thank everyone who came out on January 26 to hear us play - we appreciate all your support and energy. And we hope you all had a fun time; we certainly did! :-) As a result of our string of successful appearances at Skip's, we've been booked there yet again! Details: We'll be playing in San Francisco at Skip's Tavern in Bernal Heights on Saturday February 23 from about 9:00 pm to at 1:30 am. There's no cover. It's a pretty cool place, with just the right amount of funk to keep it real. Skip's is located at 453 Cortland Ave, and the cross street is Andover. As always, if you've seen/heard us before, we'll work to ensure that you don't have a déjà vu experience if you come again - we plan to expand the number of tunes with vocalists (don't worry, no one in the band sings, we play with special guest vocalists), as well as add some new numbers. Getting more schizophrenic as time goes on, we're adding tunes ranging from Jimi Hendrix to more Duke Ellington to our set. Patrick is also on the verge of demonstrating some slick dance moves on stage while we play! Come check it out!
