Lance Beaumont is the head of guitar studies and Assistant Professor of Music at Howard Payne University. In addition to heading up the guitar area Lance also teaches course in music history and music technology. He is the author of the best-selling book, The Capo Chord Book, published by Mel Bay Publications. Lance is a highly sought after clinician and performer. Lance is a graduate of Texas Christian University with a BM and MM in classical guitar performance. While at TCU he had the opportunity to study with great guitarists like; William Kannengiser, Carlos Barbosa-Lima, Paulo Bellinatti, Roland Dyens, and Simon Dinnegan. Lance is currently a doctoral candidate at Boston University pursuing a degree in music education. His areas of speciality include guitar pedagogy in secondary education, sociomusicology, democracy in music education, and music aesthetics. He currently lives in Brownwood, TX with his wife and children.
