Puppet Stage Special Project
The kids at United Baptist Church made our puppet stage their special VBS project.
This page is for them. Thank you! Click on any photo.

This is place we rent for our church activities.
On August 28th, we'll do a puppet show here.
Here is the room that we will use.
We've also been invited to do puppets at this gradeschool.
We plan to use the stage at this kids cultural center as well.
Kids ids are coming out of the cultural center.
Kids playing outside.
There's lots of kids to invite in these hi-rise apartments.
Some kids already come to church.
Here kids are doing a craft.
They made clocks with their own photo in it.
Kids came at Easter.
They enjoyed coloring eggs.
Here they show off their creations.
Kevin came up with plans for a portable puppet stage.
He designed it on the computer. Notice the mug.
Puppet stage construction begins.
Lots of sanding of the boards first.
Then the painting begins.
We decided to use orange and yellow.
Some people came from San Jose and also helped us.
The neighbor from next door came to help paint too.
All materials were bought in metric at our Japanese hardware store.
It was a hot day to be painting outside.
The stage begins to take shape. Level one complete.
Kaori sews the curtain.
We borrowed a sewing machine for the job.
Kevin begins work on the lights.
He only burned his fingers twice.
The wiring for the stage lights is complete.
Behind the stage. The lights and rear curtain.
The lights really make the puppets come to life.
Katie came from Canada and helped with painting.
Katie was a careful painter.
Blue stripes were also added to the orange front.
Here are our puppeteers: the youth of Denen Grace Chapel.
The puppet stage nears completion.
The yellow, orange and blue really stand out beautifully.
When used outside, the sides/back fold around.
When used inside, it can be opened up wider.
The side and front windows close with hinges.
The stage is 4 feet high and 5 feet wide, and 3 feet deep.
We have about 10 puppets that we can use with the stage.
The whole stage splits into two halves and can be folded up.
One person can easily carry it. All parts fit inside.
A special thanks from Grace Chapel for your help.
