Saturday
Dad's still feeling better, but he decided to not go up this morning and give himself another morning off. Mother still has her cold, but it doesn't seem too bad.
When I got there this morning Mother was snoozing in her recliner. She was glad to see me and I took her to her room. She was very sleepy and I had a little trouble getting her to wake up enough to eat. She didn't want to eat much, but she drank most of the fortified orange juice. She had one piece of toast and a bite or two of french toast and scrambled eggs. When she had finished eating she napped. When she started getting restless I asked her if she wanted to get into bed and she did. Once she was in bed she fell asleep and she was asleep when I left.
Dad and I came back after lunch and Mother was still eating. When she had finished eating she was glad to see me, but she was really glad to see Dad. We took her home and we all had a good nap. She slept until about four. When I got back with supper we helped her out of bed. She ate better than I thought she might, but she was getting very sleepy. As we were getting ready to leave she looked at me like she wanted to know what was keeping us from leaving. I told her we were getting ready to leave and she said, "OK then." As I was getting her into the van I asked her if she was ready for bed and she gave a resounding Yes which was kind of bad since I was so close to her. Back at the nursing home as I was helping her out of the van she told me that I needed to help her get into bed. I assured her that I would help her get into bed and make sure she was comfortable. When I caught up with Mother and Dad at the elevator she saw me and said, "Oh good I need you." When we got to her room I helped her into bed and she fell asleep quickly and she was asleep when we left.
