When I was a child, I spoke like a child
I thought like a child
I reasoned like a child
Now that I have grown,
I’ve put my childish way behind.

In the same way, we see and try to understand
the things of God, not known to mortal man
like gazing on reflections in a mirror,
now we see dimly - a poor reflection

May Your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord
even as we put our faith in You

When I was a child...

Then comes the day we meet our Maker face to face
the things of earth will surely fade away
Then we shall know, even as we are known
we will behold Him
our great Creator
