Comics Submission Guidelines
For every issue of the BCR, we reserve about 10% of the pages for comic-lit. We're wanting to up this number to about 20%, but that depends on artists submitting good work. Tell your friends and be the first (well, fourth, really) kid on the block to get your stuff published in the BCR.
General Guidelines: Address all manuscripts to proper editor (by genre) and to the address below. Include a self addressed, 37-cent stamped, #10 envelope (SASE) for response. No reply will be given via email or postcard. Send only recyclable copies of your manuscript, as we are not responsible for the safe return of originals and discard all unused submissions.

Cover Letter: All submissions should be accompanied by a cover letter that somehow includes the author's name, titles of all pieces submitted, and a brief biographical statement.
Graphic Narrative: Up to 10 pages. Includes comics and other pictorial works which engage the reader/viewer in a narrative manner. We will consider acceptance based on two aspects of graphic narrative: that they be art, and that they be literary - we'll take either/or or both. We want strong graphics or a strong story, but will favor submissions that have strength in both these aspects. We do not want the funny pages. Humorous graphic narrative should be witty and we will not accept superheroes unless they are creative and different.
Please submit hardcopies on 8.5 x 11 paper. (We scan and digitize into a variety of formats - keep in mind, however, that our publication size is 6x9" and your images will be reduced to fit. Make sure the text is clear and will be legible when shrunk.) Copies should be clean and free of chaff, spots, stray marks, or general detritus. Submit work flat, unfolded, and in a manila envelope. Do not send originals, as manuscripts will be recycled. If interested in submitting work via slides, please follow the guidelines listed under artwork.
Full submission guidelines, all genres.
