Too bad the macro-focus thing didn't work well here — this redwood had dozens of these tiny mushrooms growing right out of its bark. The caps were barely an eighth of an inch in diameter, and the very fine stems well under 1/32nd of an inch. I noticed this tree on the way back to the trailhead; it's probably under 1/4 mile from the bottom.
