Orange Peel Morris Dancers |
May Day 2003 began as usual with celebrations in High Park on the west side of downtown Toronto. Dawn was rudely shaken awake by lightning and thunder, and torrential downpours. Dancers dodged deep puddles and musicians sheltered under dripping umbrellas. Still, the pleasures of performing and enjoying champagne orange juice with strawberries brightened the day. Afterwards, many enjoyed John’s hospitality in hosting a grand May Day breakfast at his home. Fortunately, the rest of the day improved to a fine breezy and sunny day.
