No hand washing after toilet

When I first came back to Hong Kong, I was shocked to see that some men never washed their hands after using the restroom. I usually noticed it when I'm in front of the basin washing my hands, they would walk away from the urinal then stroll right past the basin and out the door. If I'm in a restaurant's restroom, often a guy wearing white uniform working in the kitchen walks in, pee, then walks out, skipping the hand washing altogether.

Now after nearly 7 years in Hong Kong, it doesn't shock me anymore, because I've witnessed too many of these skip-the-hand-wash incidents to count. Nonetheless, I've often wondered what percentage of Hong Kong men don't wash their hands.

Well, thanks to the Hong Kong Toilet Association, I need to wonder no more. According to an observation of 361 bathroom users, nearly a third of the men don't wash their hands. That's a lot of dirty hands out there. Have you shaken hands with one of them lately?
