At ECU it is called ECAMP
Officially it is known as the ECU Partner in the
Oklahoma Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation
in Science, Technology, Engineering,
and Mathematics
(OK-LSAMP STEM).
It is a consortium of Oklahoma universities and colleges that work
together to develop programs
that have the goal to increase the numbers of students from
underrepresented minority populations
that receive degrees in
STEM and go on to graduate school and get PhD's.
Money is available to Juniors and Seniors for workstudy, traineeships
($500/semester
for 2 hrs/week work),
or summer research ($2500 for 8 weeks of 30 hrs/week work on
research).
Some money is available for graduate school in the Bridges to the
Doctorate
program ($30,000/year).
Native Americans, Hispanics, African American's or Pacific Islanders,
etc. are
listed
underrepresented populations
for this grant. Please ask Dr. Rutledge to be sure
you qualify.
