Preparing Images for your web pages

When you publish images on the Internet, they need to be web-appropriate. This means the image needs to be in JPEG or GIF format, and appropriately sized to display on a computer monitor.

You may need to use image editing software to crop and resize the image as necessary. Especially if you are getting images from a digital camera, they may be jumbo-sized! You can use image editing software to crop and/or resize the image.

You need to make sure the image is the right size and the right format before adding the image to your webpage. If an image is not the right size (<500 KB) or right format for the Internet (jpeg or gif), use one of the following utilities to resize and/or reformat it:
