Week 10: Science in the 15th Century
In our whirlwind tour of the history of science, this week we make our stop in the Italian Renaissance, the 1400's, "Quattrocento," or 15th century, the era of Michelangelo and Raphael, the century of Leonardo da Vinci, humanism, Neoplatonism, the hermetic tradition, and the printing press. Our aim will be to get to know the scientists of 15th-century culture in terms of their own place and time. We'll not be like tourists in Florence who seek fast food at McDonald's. We'll take nothing for granted.
