Week 7: Arabic, Indian and Chinese Science

This week's assignments

In our whirlwind tour of the history of science, this week we make a stop in medieval Arabic culture, with two quick sidetrips to Indian and Chinese cultures. Our aim will be to get to know the scientists of these cultures in terms of their own place and time. We'll not be like tourists in Cordoba, Baghdad, the Taj Mahal, or Beijing who seek fast food at McDonald's. We will take nothing for granted.
