Notes from Mexico City

I saw a few interesting sites when I arrived in the capital city of Mexico.

It was dark when I finally left the airport on Saturday so I didn't get to see much except the sites along the road. I did see a McDonald's along the way. There were lots of original VW Beetles. There were some painted green and white that were taxis! The next morning I went outside to see the plaza before I had to meet up with the other people on the tour and load up the bus. Here's some photos of the plaza:

The flag in the middle of the plaza is a huge Mexican flag. On the right is a very old church that they are trying to restore.

There were some shops along the Plaza including this McDonald's. No neon signs though, they all had these metal plates for signs.

There were two men carrying these huge bundles of balloons to sell on the plaza. My hotel was in the building in the photo on the right.
