Queensland & Sydney
In June, we drove up (15-1/2 hrs) to visit Martina's Dad in Queensland, and then in early July, we took another trip (only a 3-hr drive) to Sydney.

Sean looks up to his sister.
Deda's piano was a real magnet.
Deda shows the kids how it's done.
Do we have a budding drummer in the family?
A'la Great-Uncle David in Prague?
Mary gets totally engrossed in a video game.
Then poses for the camera.
With Sean.
And Auntie Dina.

We visited Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
Met a Wedge-Tailed Eagle (Australia's largest bird of prey).
And more kangaroos.
But this time they were close up.
A red kangaroo is the largest kind.
A grey kangaroo is slightly smaller.
Getting up close,
and personal.
"How're you going?"
He was really nice.
Currumbin is in the heart of Queensland's famed Surfer's Paradise.
Mary fed the Lorikeets.
One liked her hat.
It was pretty heavy.
One liked his perch atop Martina's head, too.
Jostling for position on the edge of the plate.
Sean was not left out of the hat sitting, either.
But because the birds were so heavy, Mum helped out.
Within seconds there was a crowd.
Sean was very brave throughout.

How the kids spent the holidays.
Doing jigsaw puzzles. Sean's a pro at the 24-pc ones.
While Mary challenged herself with a 100-pc puzzle.
And succeeded.

The Sydney CBD skyline, from our hotel room.
The skyline with the Harbour Bridge & Opera House.
The kids and the skyline.
This is Manly Beach, just north of Sydney.

While Mike went to work, the kids enjoyed themselves.
