Introduction
This is the genealogy of my grandparents Józef Królikowski & Franciszka Łepkowska

Source files can be found at http://idisk.mac.com/krol1415-Public. Outline of these source files can be found at http://homepage.mac.com/krol1415/idisk public directory.html

My grandparents, Józef Królikowski and Franciszka Łepkowska came to America in the early 1900's with their two sons, Anton and Józef. Their first stop was on the east side of Buffalo, NY near Polonia where Józef's sister Józefa lived with her husband Ignacy Fenslau (or Fenslan) and three young children: Bronisław, Wladisław and Zygmunt. By 1906 my grandparents had moved to Scranton, Pa.

Józef's parents Anton and Teofila (nee Zarzecka) also immigrated to America at the same time along with their nephew Józef Belkowski; however, no record of them or of their nephew has been found since their arrival. There is no evidence that Franciszka's parents Tomasz and Marianna (nee Zbikowska) emigrated from Poland.

My grandfather Józef was born in 1875 in Lubicz. At the time (Upper) Lubicz was located in the Kingdom of Poland, Russia. My grandmother Franciszka was born in 1877 in Łaszewo, West Prussia, Germany. Today Lubicz is located in the district (gmina) of Dobrzejewice in the county (powiat) of Toruń. Łaszewo is located in the district (gmina) of Grążawy in the county (powiat) of Brodnica. Both towns are presently located in the province (wojewodztwo) of Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Poland.

Except for the Zarzecki's which came from Lithuania, the Królikowski's have been found in Dobrzejewice parish records from the early 1820's. Previous to this time, the Królikowski ancestors can also be found in the nearby parishes of Ciechocin and Papowo Toruńskie.

The Łepkowski's have been found in Grążawy parish records from the late 1700's primarily in Łaszewo. Previous to this time, the Łepkowski ancestors can also be found in the nearby parish of Szczuka.

Federal Census Extraction Forms for Download (Microsoft Word)

The advantage of these census extraction forms is that they can be downloaded to your PC for free and then edited in Microsoft Word, giving you the capability to enter census data directly onto the form instead of having to write out the data by hand on a pre-printed form. This method provides:
* easier transcription since you are typing and not writing
* easier transcription since columns are wide enough and can be adjusted where needed
* a clear and legible printout
* the ability to email the completed census extraction form to friends and family
* a backup system so that, if your hardcopy is lost or destroyed, you just print out another copy
Each family that you find in the census can now be entered on a form and then saved as a unique file. The following format is suggested for filenames: "Sweeney, Charles 1930 census" or for those families who need more than one page: "Sweeney, Charles 1930 census 1 of 2". This format not only describes your file succinctly but also provides easy access to your files when sorted by filename in a directory.

The following links provide a sample census form for that year as well as a link to download the associated Word file. Please read the Download FAQs before continuing.
