10時頃起きる。うわー。服着たまま、ジーンズ履いたまま、しかもウエストポーチつけたまま布団に入って寝とった。いったいどうやって帰ったんやろ？多分タクシーやと思うけどまったく記憶に無い。姉貴によると最初は布団の上で倒れとったらしいけど何時の間にか自分で布団にはいっとったみたい。あー、久々にやってもた。やっぱ地元に帰って来ると何かと気が抜けてるんやな。浜松じゃこういうことめったにないし。

昼前に三宮に出て銀行でちょっとした手続きをしたり、買物したり。平日お昼の都会の銀行ってすごい人の数。まあ月末やしゴールデンウィーク中の貴重な平日ってこともあるんやろうけど、ものすごい列。ATMの列に「ここから約5分」ってプラカードたってるし、でも窓口の客さばきはすばらしいね。列で待っている間でも行員さんが巡回してきて、手続き内容を確認してくれて、待ってる間に通帳預かって記帳しにいってくれたり。

お昼ご飯は吉兵衛、三宮市場の中にあるカウンターのカツ丼屋。地元では昔から有名。うまいうまい。中には近所の飲食店の店員で厨房服着たまま堂々と普通に食うてる客もおった。以前行った時は、向かいのうなぎやのおばちゃんが自分の店のご飯をどんぶりによそって持って来てカツとじだけ乗せてもらってたし。関西やなぁ。

車を置きに一旦須磨に帰宅。楽器を担いで再度三宮へ。バンドのリハ、メンバーは高校の連れ。三宮駅でtomoと落ち合って、北野方面へ歩く。1時間ほどスタジオに早く着いたので、楽器を置いて近所の立ち飲みやへ。また阪神vsヤクルトを見ながらだらだら飲む。おぉ、きのういけちゃん言うてた通りや、大幅に打順を変えてきた、キンちゃんほんまにライト行きよった。今年初めて打順を変えたらしいね。Christ joined a little later. Went back to the studio after the 2nd or 3rd inning was over.

JJJ arrived while rest of us were setting up. I had my pedal but I decided to hook directly to the Marshall and work with the volume knob on my guitar. A bit of a challenge for me, but it worked. The Band is sounding much better than a year ago. Mostly original stuff, a touch of progressive rock. Great compositions. I will be sitting in for a few songs at a gig in July.

リハ終了後近所のお好み屋、うおーーーっ！！！こいつらいっつもこんなうまいもん食うてるんや。神戸にすんでる連中が羨ましい。ええもん食いながら、毎日阪神戦みれるし。わしもこっちにいる間思いっきり堪能せな。阪神勝った、勝った。

Slept until around noon. Christ asked me out for a drink in the evening. Came to pick me up on his new motorcycle. First in years I got on the back seat of a motorcycle. So nice at this time of the year.

JR神戸駅あたりの高架下の居酒屋で阪神vs横浜の試合を見ながら、ビール→ホッピー。これこれ、この感じ。あー、なんか嬉しいな、神戸やねぇ。でも試合は阪神ええとこなし。あーぁ、出てきてもた、大魔人。店の大将のいけちゃんが打順を変えなアカンと言うてた。キンちゃんは全然打たへんし、あいつはどこ守ってもええからサードに関本だしてきて外野行ったらええねんって。仙ちゃんはどう思って今の阪神見てるンやろね。と思ってたらこんな所に書いてた。

めちゃくちゃ酔っ払った。どうやって帰ったかさっぱり覚えてへん。

Last day of work before my long vacation. Tennis lesson, again after 2 weeks off. I realized I have been learning to play more with my brain. My brain knows my physical limit. I know I can't run around like I used to. So, I learned ways to fool my opponents and became more tricky

Came home from my lesson I had so much to pack for 11 days. I had to burn some CDs to give away to folks back in Kobe. Took me 2 hours to get everything together for my vacation. Left home around 10:30pm to stop by Mugiya to get something to eat.

麦家でご飯、お店にはいるとお友達が沢山。うーん、みんなおいしそーにビール飲んでるし。わしも飲みたいけど今から4時間近くのドライブやし、さすがにね。一瞬帰省を明日に伸ばそうかという誘惑にかられそうになる。そこへなおぽんが神戸まで代行でどうすか？って。（笑）ごはん、豚しょうが焼き、、厚揚げ、赤出汁、ウーロン茶。ご飯がうまい！0:15頃にお店を後に、一路神戸へ。

2ストップ作戦で、渋滞もなく4:00am頃実家に到着。ねーやんが起きて来た。今月生まれたばかりの甥っこの一平と初対面。ちっこい！（あたりまえ）、えらいおとなしいなぁ。横で2番目の姪っこの千花がごっつい寝相で寝てるし。（笑）

外はもう明るい。ビール1本空けて、寝るっ

Rainy day. I actually enjoy this kind of weather too. It's hard to tell what time of the day it is until it gets dark. It still feels like the middle of the day even after I come home from work.

明後日から、ゴールデンウィーク松コース。取れるときに休み取って11連休。もう冷蔵庫に食料も残ってないし、しばらく浜松を離れるので休みに入るまで外食。この間行かなかったラーメンＱへ。みそスモークチャーシュー。人に勧められなかったらみそラーメンってまず頼まへんけど、うん、うまいうまい。チャーシューは脂身のすくない肉やけど、うすーく丁寧に切ってあって柔らかい。やっぱみそなんで味はもちろん濃いけどわりと優しい味。相席したお客さんの醤油ラーメンのスープには、油を浮かせてるけど、みそのスープには油使ってないんや。なるほど、考えてるな。なんか心がこもったラーメンって感じ。人気店にありがちな、豪快さと称した乱暴さを売りにしてるラーメンよりやっぱこういうのいいな。

全然関係ないけど、12年くらい前、社会人生活初日、赴任したばかりの東京、渋谷の街で先輩達にお昼御飯つれていってもらった時、109のすぐ近くの道玄坂でいきなり早見優とすれ違った。あっ、て思ったけど先輩達は平然としてる。「あー、やっぱ東京では、しかも渋谷なんかで芸能人とすれ違うことぐらい珍しくないんや。そんなことで騒いだりしたら田舎もんなんや。」と思って自分も平静を装ってたら、彼女が通り過ぎて見えなくなったとたんみんなはしゃぎだした。なーんや・・・そんなことをふと思い出した。浜松のラーメン屋で彼と相席することになるのなんて奇遇でも何でもないんや。

I may be off to Kobe tomorrow evening after the tennis lesson. I may or may not be able to update this journal for a while, depending on my mother's PC.

A little down about this small thing happened to me during the day. I can easily get pessimistic at times. But then, email from a friend back in Kobe cheered my up. The mail was about the detail of the this camp that he asked me to come along. My emotion is fluctuating rapidly today. I guess I'm a little exhausted physically.

K-ON studio drawing and a meeting for the welcome party for freshmen. Came home around 8:00pm. Don't feel like doing much of anything, so I'm just kicking back in front of TV.

Recording Day 2:

Vocal and guitar recording. I guess we all tend to become very picky and subjective at the site of the recording, and it's hard to judge things objectively. We easily get hung up on some small details like a small fluctuation of rhythm and stuff. When you are working so hard to make the best out of it, it's easy to notice the down side and overlook the impression as a whole. I was very surprised how energetic everybody's performance were when I was working on the mix at home.

今日もへとへと。うーん、やっぱ街にでる元気は残ってないなぁ。忘れないうちに収録した音データの整理をする。そんな中、にいずみくんが春野用に用意してた譜面を取りに来てくれた。早く渡さないとと気にはしてたんやけど、ばたばたして・・・

A little chilly today for this time the year.

Recording Day 1:

Woke up before 8:00, took me much longer than I thought to double check the gears to bring into the studio. I was planning to go into the studio early enough so I can learn from Hoshika-san how to boot up and patch up that huge console. But, by the time I got there, all the patching was already done and the console was booted up, just waiting to hook up my VS-1824CD digital recorder.

First time for me to record the drum set fully miced using the SSL console. But, I've only got 8 inputs available for simultenous recording on my VS, so the overhead and tom micings are mixed into 2 ch. stereo in SSL. Kick drum, snare, and Hi-hat are miced individually.

We were to record only the basic rhythm tracks, drums and e. bass. Guitars and vocals were only for play along this time. They will be recorded individually on other dates. So, today would probably the only time all the players would get together in the studio. Everything went much more smoothly than the last recording. Many thanks to Hoshika-san who is a brilliant engineer.

One of the hight-light of the day is to record the "party" tracks so to speak. All the players and auditors, about 10 of us all gathered in the large studio hall and recorded the hand clapps and a big chorus, a touch of gospell feel with stereo micing. The hall ambient was perfect for this kind of recording. Very natural. I had recorded the hand claps twice and mixed them to make it sound like a large crowd. It was a success.

前回にくらべて、だいぶ慣れてきてるし、今回は星加さんの多大なご協力で作業はスムーズだったけど、やっぱ長い一日で、終わってみると結構つかれてるもんやね。かえるのライブは断念。あ、そうそう、今回の教訓の一つとして、どんな仕事のプロでもそうやけど、エンジニアがコミュニケーション用のマイクが生きているときに「あっ」とか「あれ？」とか「えっ」とか「うわっ」っていうのは禁句。南部さんになんども「プレーヤーを不安にさせるからやめろー」ってつっこみをいただく。そりゃそうやなぁ、医者なんかには絶対いわれたくないもんなぁ。うーん、まだまだですな。

木許さんと麦家。はまちゃんはまちゃん、りっちゃん来店。ネットには怖いもんいっぱいあるねって話題など。また、送ってもらっちゃった。いつもありがとうございますぅ。

マックの前で珍しくうたた寝。うわー、ホンマに疲れてるなぁ。明日も朝からレコーディング。寝るっ。

Another busy day at work.

おうちにかえって明日のレコーディングに備えて持参の機材の確認など。荷物が多くなりそう。お腹がすいたので、近場で何か食べようと思って出かける。そういえば最近R257沿いに讃岐うどんの看板を上げたお店がオープンしてるのを見かけたので行ってみる。うーん、本場のうどんを知ってしまった自分は不幸な人間になったのか？多分、以前なら結構うまいと思ったにちがいないうどんもなんかふつーうのおうどんに感じた。

I have to open up the hard disk in my VS-1824CD for the recording sessions starting tomorrow. So, I deleted some junk. I totally forgot that I was editing in my VS the live recording of NASUA gig a couple of month ago. I dump the audio into my Mac in order to burn a CD and deleted from VS.

I gotta be at the studio early tomorrow. So, I guess I'm gonna pass out.

今日は会社で従業員持ち回りの「廃棄物、及び資源回収分別計測記録係」、えー、つまりゴミ当番です。・・・♪産業系、生活系、プラスチック、♪産業系、生活系、廃棄物、こんな分別しなくっても、無理っ♪・・・今時そこそこの規模の製造業の工場ならどこも同じやろうけど、環境保全の社会責任のため、廃棄物処理のルールがめっちゃ細かい。ゴミ一つ捨てるのも大変。フロアのゴミ捨て場には何種類ものゴミ箱があり、一つ一つラベリングされている。それを目方を計って敷地内の集積所に捨てに行く。あーめんどくさ。

Busy day. Late for RD rehearsal from work. We only had time to sing 3 songs but it was a productive rehearsal. Mugiya as usual. Not many people there maybe because it's right before the payday? Rather healthy food tonight. So, what happened? We were supposed to discuss on the set list for Friday, June 4 gig.

McD for lunch. I seriously have to cut down on meat.

Went to the tennis club for my weekly lesson only to find out my coach could not make it today. Decided to stop by the "Super Autobacks" which just opened near by the tennis club. They are selling used vehicles now.

どっかで晩御飯食べな、この前行くのをやめたラーメンＱに行こうと思ったら、今日は休みやった。取り合えず家の近所まで戻ろうとおもって、週末などは入る気もしないような行列が出来てるらーめん元亀の前を通りかかったら、以外にすんなり入れそうな気配だったので行ってみる。Ｑに行ったら、人に勧められたみそスモークチャーシュー（？）を頼もうとおもっていたので、元亀でみそチャーシューを頼んでみた。通常ラーメン屋でみそを頼むことはまずないんやけど。

うーん、予感的中。最初の取っつきはいいけど、食べ続けるとやっぱ味濃いなぁ。ワシ、どうも評判のいいとされる店の5割くらいで味が濃いと感じてしまう傾向があるみたい。でもやっぱ関西行くとそうでもない気がするんやけどね。ラーメンみたいな競争の激しい外食産業って、より多く客を集めるためにと、いろんな思考をこらしてあれこれ材料つかう結果、どんどん味が濃くなってきてるのかもなぁ、なんて最近、血圧で注意されたせいか、ちょっと神経質になってみたり。。。

この日記って食いもんの話おおいなぁ。

目覚ましがなる寸前に起床。うーん、だるい。がんばってベッドから這い出して朝ご飯の用意。先週、うどんも終わっていつも通りの米飯食、みそ汁、納豆、いかなごの釘煮。さあ、食おうってテレビつけたら、、、ん？なんかいつもと内容がちがう？、えっ？うそー！まだ6:30やん、あー、一時間まちごうた。貴重な睡眠時間、、、でも朝飯作ってしもたし。ってとりあえず朝飯食べて再びベッドに入る、でもやっぱり一度起きてちょっと動いたら寝られへんもんやね。あきらめて、シャワー浴びて頭あらって会社に出かける。

Saw Tomo on the way home, being stuck with his delivery motor bike right near my factory. He waved at me, so I pulled over and asked him what was going on. He was waiting for the replacement bike to get his work done. Very surprising to see him at a place like that.

Dinner was pretty much the same as yesterday except I added a touch of curry powder and used less seasoning tonight. Definitely better than yesterday. A nutritionist said on Friday that use of spices in cooking is an effective way to prevent from too much use of seasoning containing sodium which would raise your blood pressure. Spices, on the other hand, do not affect your blood pressure.

A call from Christ again, asked me to sit in for a gig in July in Kobe. I'll be going to Kobe twice in July, most likely with a brand new car.

Rained all day. Damp weather like this always makes me so sleepy during the day.

Organized my junk index. Many of those jokes came in to my office email. So, I tried to put them together during the lunch break.

A call from Christ during lunch, a very good friend from high school back in Kobe. Asked me to go camping during the golden week. Something to look forward.

Grocery shopping after work. Gotta eat more vegies. Bought some bamboo shoot, lotus root, bean sprouts etc. Chop them in big pieces and stir-fry everything in my wok, seasoned with oyster sauce and stuff. Not too bad, but a little too greasy and ate a little too much.

食後のお茶、最近の定番、凍頂烏龍茶のティーバック。熱いやつはやっぱ脂を流す効果があるのかお腹がすっきりするなぁ。うわっ、マグの中でまたお茶っ葉がどばー。やるなぁ。中国産。

木許さんが、今週海外赴任する職場の後輩の木本くん（笑）からベッドを譲り受けるとのことで、運搬のお手伝いをする。13:00頃、木許さんに迎えに来てもらって木本くんのおうちへ。その後解体したベッド、その他譲渡品をバンにつみこんで木許さんちへ。（あ〜、変換めんどくさ！）で、部屋の整理とベッドの組立などを。古いベッドが以外にコンパクトに分解できるのを見て、急遽譲り受けることにした。今までは和室に布団を敷いて寝てたけど、どうも敷き布団の下に敷くウレタンマットがへたってて、寝心地が悪く、正直ちょっと不眠気味だったので、実はベッドの導入を検討してた。実家では子供の時からベッドやったし、実家に帰ったときはいっつもめっちゃよく眠れる。今晩楽しみ。（ってわくわくして結局寝れんかったりして・・・）

お手伝いのお礼に晩御飯をおごってもらう。二人とも何年かぶりやという鴨江の王将へ。あそこ、近所に最近バーミヤン出来てるし、正直やばいんちゃうかと思ってたけど、とんでもない。ものすごい活気と回転率で店を回してた。根強いファンがいるのか、やっぱ価格が魅力なのか。席を待ってる時、子供を小脇にかかえたマッチョな人がこっちに手を振ってる。吉野さん大家族も席を待ってた。っていうか吉野さん王将似合いすぎ（笑）。 二人で死ぬほど食った。

その後、木許さんの行きつけの、これまた鴨江の小さな居酒屋でかるく一杯。ほんとごちそうさまでした。

A phone call in the evening. It was from the sales man from the first dealer I went yesterday. See, I knew this guy was much more enthusiastic and responsive than the second one. Now, I know I will turn down the second dealer.

Wake up around 9:00, rather early for Saturday. Laundry in the morning, then drove out for lunch. After lunch, I made up my mind to do a car dealer hopping. I have been thinking about buying a new car for the past few months. My car is now 11 years old and my automobile inspection expires in the mid May. So, I don't think it's really worth investing another \100,000 or more for the next inspection. I feel my car is starting to ware out quickly ever since the odometer has gone over 100,000km. The light bulb behind the fuel gage has blown off and hard to see how much gas I have left at night. Also, I was told at the last oil change that the torque of the drain bolt under the oil pan is getting slightly weak.

I went into 2 different dealers. The first one is only 5 min. walk from my apartment. It looks like a really old shop, kinda rustic atmosphere. But the salesman seemed very enthusiastic and very honest. Gave me a few suggestions and recommendations of what class or what kind of options I should get based on the budget that I presented and also what car I'm currently driving. Got the estimate and left.

Second dealer on the other hand was a brand new shop with a very modern atmosphere with the employees all dressed casually. But, the salesman that I spoke to was really lame. He just asked me what car I'm interested and what kind of options I wanted and printed out the estimate with hardly any detailed explanations or no suggestion at all.

夜はポルカでMoody (K)nights, Misato & Shinのライブ。生♪ こーんな家族にちょうどいい♪ （笑）。Shinさん、ギターの幅が広がった気がする。リズムの良さは前からすばらしいと思ってたけど、コードのvoicingなど、以前にくらべてボキャブラリーがうんと増えた気がする。Moodyはますますバンドサウンドが確立されてきてるなぁ。このところ、セッションや企画ものなんかでのみんなの演奏はよく聴くけど、みんながやってるのステディーなバンドのライブって青山ばんどやブラバ以外、ちょっと聞いてなかったのもあるせいか、今日はメンバー全員本領発揮みたいな感じがした。はまちゃんチョッパー率増量中（笑）、今日のチョッパー（slapじゃないよね）特にかっこよかったよー。

1週間禁酒してたせいか、お酒がまわって。ちょっとへろへろ気味。寝るっ。

Wake up a little later than usual because I don't have to prepare my breakfast. Not that I don't want to but I'm not supposed to eat or drink anything this morning. Going to the medical examination otherwise known as the "Human Dock", scary eh? So instead of breakfast, I have to go to the bathroom to scoop the sample of my yesterday's dinner. (sorry!) I hate seeing a doctor even though my father is one. (or maybe that's why...) I know they would do some terrible things to me like sucking my blood with a needle through my arm, or making me drink some white stuff and spin around my body on a big machine and so on...

初めての人間ドック。お医者いくのだいっきらい。こわいこといっぱいされるし。今日なんか、目ん玉にピカって光当てられるわ、パフって風当てられるわ。右腕に針さして血抜かれるわ、右肩に痛い痛い筋肉注射打されるわ、白いやつ飲まされてお腹が膨れる薬も飲まされて、機械に乗せられてでぐるんぐるん回されるわ、その間にげっぷがまんさせられるわ、機械でお腹ぎゅーって押されるわ・・・しかも朝からなんにも食べさせてくれなくてお腹もぺこぺこやのにぃ。うぇ〜ん！みんなでよってたかってひどいことするぅ〜！帰りたいよぉ〜、え〜ん！

っていうか、おひるの模範食に「醤油ください」はまずいっしょ。（笑）しかも、ねばってホンマにもらってるし、、、もぉ〜。まぁ、さんざん絶食したあとで、、、って気持ちは分からないでもないですけどね。後できっと職員さんの間で話題になったことでしょう。っていうか、問題になったかも。

My right shoulder muscle was still hurting in the evening from that IM injection, which gave me a little hard time to play the electric bass at TETSUKAN-NON rehearsal. Picked up some new repertoire.

I'm crashing early tonight 'cuz I'm literally beat!

※模範食：人間ドックで出されるお昼御飯は、細かくカロリーや栄養分等が計算されており、このくらいの塩分、脂質が理想ですよ、という献立が用意される。確かに薄味ではある。うちのおかんの手料理くらい、、、（って知らんわな）

完食！全６袋。朝ご飯はかまたまと冷たい醤油うどん。（朝からうどん2杯かよ？）今日はたべれるうちにいっぱいたべるねん！明日は初の人間ドック、今晩９時以降、明日の昼までなんにも食べられへんもん。今晩深夜0:00以降は水も喫煙もNG (;_;)

SAWAYAKA for lunch with the same old gang as last week. Way too much meat consumption!

今日はRDのリハの後、麦家にも行けない。リハ前にどっかで腹一杯飯喰わな。そっかリハ前にいけばええやん、ってなわけでご飯だけ食べにに麦家。こんな早い時間に行くのはめったにないな。まだ、ご飯が炊けてなかったので炊きあがるのをちょっと待って、豚生姜焼きと赤だし。炊き立てのご飯が最高！

At the rehearsal, we went over two different set lists that we came up with last week for the upcoming gigs on Friday, June 4, and Sunday, June 6. My voice was rather in good shape tonight. I usually avoid eating before I sing because I thought wouldn't have enough room to inhale the amount of air needed into my abdominal. But, I guess I was wrong. I could easily get the volume I needed with less strength.

うぐー、テレビつけてたら食べ物番組やってて、またお腹空いてきたよぅ。もう、寝るっ！

※写真のうどん鉢は、香川県坂出市にある「がもう」っていううどんやさんで買ってきた九谷焼。ここのうどん最高でした。

朝ご飯は昨日と全く同じ、今日は生姜をちゃんとうどんにのせた。

Rained all day. For lunch we, the gang walked into to McD for a change. Too much meat consumption!

Still drizzling in the evening. No tennis lesson. Filled out the questionnaire sheet for the comprehensive medical examination that I'm taking for the first time on Friday. Some questions deal with very personal stuff such as the sexual life, whether you are satisfied or not. Why do they wanna know? Can the doctors help those who are suffering the lack of opportunities??? Then, I would be more than happy to answer... naaaaaaahhhhh! (Of course, you have the option of not answering those types of questions if you don't wish.)

夜ご飯はあつあつできつねうどーん。味付けのお揚げさんを買ってきた。ついでに惣菜コーナーでひじきとお豆の煮物を買った。またどっちも大豆やん。んー、まずくはないけど、やっぱ売ってる惣菜ってなんか味濃いなぁ。２杯目はひやあつのてんかすうどん。ところで、揚げさんを見ててわかってんけど、おいなりさんって関西では三角で、東日本では俵形になってるけど、これって同じ正方形の揚げさんを対角線上にきるか縦に切るかだけの違いやねんなぁ。（あたりまえ？）

朝ご飯はかまたま、いかなごの釘煮、みそ汁、納豆。うどん茹でてる間に薬味用の生姜すって用意したのに、食べ終ってから使うの忘れてたことに気づく。あ〜あ、どうしようかと思ったけど、貧乏性なので思わず口に放り込んでちょっと泣きそうになった。ところで、ある日の朝ご飯に白いご飯、納豆、豆腐のみそ汁を用意して、これでこそ日本人の朝ご飯と一瞬自画自賛したけど、これってよう考えたら米と大豆しかないやん。

Nothing special happened during the day. Came home and worked on the lead sheets. Made a couple of versions for a song in different keys for the singer to choose. They turn out to be completely different voicings with the way I would play on the guitar. Another thing I found interesting is that impressions of tonality are different with different instruments. Key of C major would sounds kind of corny on the piano, but sounds rather sophisticated on the guitar. Of course, I know a lot more variations of voicings on the guitar than on piano...

A splitting migraine again... Lack of sleep I guess. Took a pain killer after breakfast. Off to work. First time I went out without a jacket this year. The cherry blossoms are almost gone.

晩御飯。はい、アレですわ。朝はかまたま、夜は、自家製かけ出汁であつあつ。スーパーの総菜コーナーで買ってきた野菜のかき揚げを乗っけてみた。うーん、総菜コーナーで売ってる天ぷらがうまいと思ったことはないがやはり買うもんやない、かなり後悔。うどんはうまいけど。明日からはうどんはやくみだけにして、おかずは別途用意しよう。疲れた、はよ寝よっ

Stayed up late last night (or early this morning?) and slept in until 12:00 noon. やっべー！人がくるんやった。急いでお掃除、クイックブランチ↑さあ、まだ誰も来ない間にさっさと喰ってしまおうとおもいきや、一人目から最寄りのバス停に着いたとの電話。はやっ！本当は迎えにでるつもりやったけど、やっぱ、出来立てを放って出るわけにもいかなくって「ごめん、手が離されへん」と電話で道案内。ごめんねぇ

Another guitar fanatic joined a little later. Kind of a kick off meeting for this one time project. Picked up a few songs and tried reading off the lead sheets the singer brought. hmmm, Not bad. If we can clarify the roles of two guitars, this is going to work out well.

みんなが帰った後、しばらく続くうどん生活にそなえ、てんかすとネギだけ補充しにスーパーに行く。でも晩は外食する事に。ラーメンＱにでも行こうと思って領家の方面に車を走らせたけど、偶然ラーメンＱのすぐ近くに「←カレー処ヤサカ」という小さい看板を見つけた。名前は聞いてて前から気にはなってたけど、場所も知らんかった。ここんとこ麺ばっかやし、せっかくなのでそっちに行くことに。お店もしゃれてて、なかなかいい感じ。BGMもよかった。親切そうな店の人が色々話しかけてきた。いちげんさんが少ない店なのか、どこでお店を知ったか訪ねられた。ここでよく歌ってる人と知り合いと答えた。

Picked up a few CDs at SUMIYA. Mahler's Symphony No.5 by L. Bernstine, and Dvorak's Symphony No.8 and 9 by Karajan, both with Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The first half of the 3rd movement, "Adagietto" in Mahler's 5th is particularly well known for it's repetitive use in the movie "Death in Venice". Other CDs I bought are ones that I used to own the vinyls. Jeff Beck's "Truth/Beck Ola" (originally separate albums), "Rough and Ready", Queen's "The Game" and "The Works"

It's a bit frustrating to listen to a symphony orchestra recording with a low volume at home. I'd rather blast this kind of music even more than when I listen to hard rock stuff. ま、しゃあないね。でも、黒豆茶とマーラー、ええ感じや。

Woke up around 8:30. 今日はアレがくる。万全の受け入れ態勢を整える。（なんのこっちゃ）夕べ、昆布といりこを浸しておいた鍋に火をいれる。同時に洗濯はじめて、布団も干す。かけ出汁はだいたいこちらの手順にしたがって仕上げ。うん、なかなかええ感じや

9:50頃、にいずみくんがうちに到着、二人でうちのすぐ近所の指定の取引場所へ。（笑）ブツの取引に先だって検品作業開始。以前商品を間違えられたことがあったので。それにしても凄い数。約束の時間にぞくぞくとバイヤー達が登場。この集団どう見てもあやしい。（笑）およそ20分程ですべての取引が終了。自分ではてっきり4袋注文したつもりが6袋も注文しとった。来週一週間、朝ご飯は全部うどんやな。

家にすっとんでかえって早速茹でる。今日はまず、さぬきの夢2000から。用意したかけ出汁を使ったひやあつと、つめたい醤油うどんで一袋消費。あー、幸せ。

First in a long time I made a few changes to my web contents. Took me all afternoon to draw the schematic of my audio system. It's about time I made the drawing. It's getting way too complecated to keep everything in my head, especially when I have to take my VS-1824CD hard disk recorder out to a recording session frequently and restore the entire configuration after each session for mix down at home.

Went out to get something to eat and drove around for a few hours. Took a walk alone in real dark Nakatajima dune. It feels kind of like a little get away from the real world, or even from this earth. Feels as if I'm much closer to the outer space just walking there in the dark. So refreshing, it's like washing all the dirt out of my soul.

Lunch at Tonkii with those gangsters in my team, again usual Friday routine.

Came home from work around 6:00pm. Phone rang. てっきりいつものおじさんかとおもったら別の人やった。やっぱ呑みのさそい。徒歩で麦家へ。He is now witnessing and freaking out at all those things he has heard about his new environment. A bit scary to think where our future is headed.

Came home around 12:00 mid night. 明日、うどんがくる。着いたらすぐに食べたいので、けっこう酔っぱらってるけど、がんばって今晩のうちに出汁の準備、昆布一枚と、いりこの頭と腸をせっせとむしりとって水に浸す。高松で買ってきたいりこはめちゃめちゃ大降り、その分必要な分量を処理するのにも数は少なくって結構らくちん。ええ出汁できそう。夜中になにしてるねん？＞ワシ。ふう、寝るっ。

Drove out to SAWAYAKA for lunch with the gang in my team. These young cats are really fun to be around with. They're all talented engineers and I'm kinda happy that they treat me more like one of the amigos instead of like an old fart in the same office (I hope...), eventhough they are more than ten years younger than I am.

Usual Thursday evening routine, RD rehearsal at TACTRAX STUDIO. Came up with a couple of set lists for up coming gigs. Off to Mugiya after an hour rehearsal. Seno-san drove us by the planned site for new TACTRAX STUDIO on the way.

Another nice warm spring day. I figured today would be the last chance to enjoy the cherry blossoms in full bloom. So, I decided to have lunch outside under one of those trees in our factory yard. One of my team mates joined me for lunch. We exchanged some info. on our individual progress.

Found one of my good friend's car in our employee parking lot on the way out. So, he moved in today. I guess it's going to be quite tough for him. But at the same time, I believe he is one of the few hopes who can make that place a better place to live for everybody else. So, I really wish him good luck and hopefully we'd be able to continue making more and more good music together.

Tennis lesson at night first in 3 weeks after 2 weeks off. Found myself completely out of shape, man! I just couldn't run and chase the ball the way I wanted. I know how I want to execute my shots in my brain, but my body just wouldn't respond. I guess I can't fight my age.

Gave up my usual Wednesday routine of Gokuraku-yu and Mugiya after the tennis lesson since I went out drinking on Monday. No alcohol today.

Wow! Kazuo Matsui of NY Mets homered the 1st. pitch of the game on his Major League debut! I guess he was lucky to have such a big opportunity to become a lead off man on his debut game. And he didn't miss that chence but turned this once in a life time opportunity into the most dramatic one that a ball player can possibly make. Later in the game, he was even walked intentionally. I'm really touched to see the Japanese ball players have come this far.

Nice day. Worm and sunny. Took a walk along the row of full bloomed cherry trees in our factory yard after lunch. Some guys are playing catch. Some eating lunch under the tree. Ran into an old colleague who just moved in from our Tokyo sales branch. 春ですな。

スーパーで、いかなごの釘煮を発見。うちの地方でこの時期でまわる。朝ご飯用に買った。うん、春ですな。

中国茶のティーバッグにお湯注いだらいきなり中からお茶っ葉がどばー。あ〜あ、破れたんじゃなくって解けてた。んも〜、ちゃらんぽらんな作りやな。

Another slow day at work. Came home around 6:00pm, checked my email, started to think about what to eat for supper, then the phone rang...Totally forgot about the 鉄観音 rehearsal! We usually rehears on Fridays. Grabbed my axe and off to the studio which is only a minute away from home. It's becoming like a once a month thing lately because somebody always gets really busy at work or gets sick on the day of rehearsal. Oh well...

リハ寸前にいずみくんから電話。平田くんが仕事で浜松にいるから、軽くどう？と言うおさそい。でも、鉄観音のリハあるし、通常月曜と火曜は呑まない日、おうちでご飯作る日ってきめてるから一度は断ったんやけど、リハも8時で終わって、結局ご飯のこと何も考えてなかったし、そう言えば昨日は呑まずに過ごしたし、ま、今日はにいずみくんの卒業祝いっちゅうことで、いっかぁ、ってなかんじでやっぱ合流することに。（意志弱過ぎ？）

インド料理にしようと思って目的の店まで行ったら目の前でインドのおじさんが看板片づけてた。で結局、3人で鍛冶町の牛角しばく。街までの車中でにいずみくんが週末に三重の焼肉屋で食べた松坂牛が最高だったという話しを聞かされてたから、めちゃくちゃ牛がたべたくなったのだ。でも、そんなうまい牛食うてきたばかりの彼に牛角はちょっと気の毒やったかなぁ。っていうか、考えたらワシも昨日木許さんちでさんざん肉食うてたやん。

それにしても、同世代のエレキギタリストでジャズから入った人って珍しいよね。大学にも居なかったなぁ。まぁ単純に我々が10代で初めてギターを手にしてロックを一生懸命聴いてコピーしてた同じ事をジャズでやってたんやね。そのせいか、かえってそう言う人には多くのジャズ屋（ジャズごっこしてる奴ら？）にありがちなロックに対する変な偏見や差別意識が全然感じられないのね。いや、やっぱそれって人間性の問題で経歴とはあんまり関係ないのかなぁ。きっと多くの我々世代にとっての少年時代のギターアイドルが、ベック、リッチー、シェンカー、エディー、ルカサー、（古い？）だったのと同じように彼にとっては、昔からジム・ホール、ジョー・パス、メセニー、ジョンスコ、マイクスターン、なんやろうな。それにしても横浜の人って神戸出身の自分にとって、どこか共通の匂いを感じるね。ってワシだけか？

にいずみくん、送り迎えまでしてもらっていつもありがとね。24時過ぎ帰宅、寝るっ。

Awakened by a phone call. 木許さん企画のお花見中止になってもた。雨やし。でも食材があるので、木許さんちでBBQやるからおいでとの電話やった。Dropped by Seven Eleven to pick up some snacks and a big bottle of tea. I decided to go cold turkey today for I was driving. Put some gas in my car and off to Kimo's.

護山さんが木許さんのPCをごそごそ漁りながらKizz, Story, なすあ等のあらゆるオーディオファイルを見つけては再生。あらためて木許さんのレパートリーの数に感心。一つの曲でもいろーんな編成でやってるのを聴くのは感慨深いね。ちょうど、護山さん、星加さん、なおぽん、私とKizz, Story, なすあのメンバーも居たので、青野さんデザインの新レーベルのロゴデザイン案なども見せてもらって意見交換。いやー、さすがプロですよねー。

Came home aroung 8:00pm. It was not so bad after all going to a party with no alcohol. I had a ball just being in a good company.

Oh Sh*t! I just ran out of kerosene for my heater. It's still a little chilly here now, but I don't think it's a good idea to go out and buy some. I know it's not going to be so cold for the rest of this spring. hmmm...

朝から金属パイプがカランカラン言うような頻繁な騒音で起こされる。窓の外をのぞいて見ると。ここ数日、壁の塗り替えのためアパートの周りに組まれていた足場の撤去作業やった。さらにベランダにおいてあるもの（ほとんどゴミ）のレイアウトが全然変わっててびっくり。そういえばあのぺらぺらビニールはいつの間に撤去されたんやろ？昨日、今日と日中は家におったんやけどなぁ。ま、取り合えずこれで静かになるし。アパートの壁の色が水色からベージュになった。違う色に塗り替えるとは思わんかった。

The gears that I ordered yesterday from Sound House arrived, dbx 286A mic preamp/processor, BEHRINGER POWERPLAY PRO-8 headphone amp, a pair of SONY MDR-CD900ST headphones, and 4 XLR female to 1/4" TRS cables. It's kinda scary to think that the stuff I order from my home computer arrives at my door the right next day. You can now purchase such expensive merchandises with just a few mouse clicks and get a huge credit card bill a month later. Wow, I'd better not go into those sites when I'm drunk, huh?　気ぃつけな・・・

So, I tried recording some vocal with the new dbx mic preamp. hmmm, The compressor seems to work much better than the one that's built in my VS. Sounds much more natural to me. Of course, it can also provide +48VDC phantom power to the mic. Yup, this is going to be a powerful tool for the up coming recording session especially for vocal recording.

I also compared the new SONY headphones to my AKG K270 STUDIO which I've been using for 4 years or so. First of all,there is a big difference in volume level. SONY is much louder. But, beside the level, SONY seems to pick up much more lows compared to AKG. I also use AKG K240 STUDIO at work. So, I'm more familiar with AKG characteristics than SONY. It means if I use SONY as the reference monitor, I would probably come up with a mix that's a little too weak in lows.

Cardboard boxes were piling up in my room especially with today's equipment delivery. So, I loaded them in my car and took them to the local recycle center or what ever you call that place.

晩飯作れるような食材も、気力もなかったので近場のラーメン屋に行く。カウンターから見える洗剤やら調味料やらおいてある奥の棚に、よく見るとなにげにサッポロ一番塩ラーメン（袋）が沢山がおいてあった。っていうか、ええのん？それで？

あーーーっ！のぶこせんせのBbのライブいくつもりやったのにうっかり忘れとった！うわーん、みたかったよう（泣）のぶちゃん、ごめーん！

A massive headache in the morning. I decided to take the whole day off. 寝不足やなぁ。このところアパートの壁の塗り替え作業のため、窓にゴミ袋みたいなぺらぺらのビニールで目張りがされてて、それが夜通し風でバサバサなびいてうるさくって、まるでベランダで誰かがごそごそしてるみたいで気味悪くて寝られへん。

Ordered a few items at Sound House via internet in order to prepare for the up coming K-pro/Story recording sessions.

Jam session at Polka Dot Slim. 今日は出足が遅くって最初はベーシストが誰もいなかったのでしょっぱなの3曲程はベースで参戦。ウォーキングむずい・・・珍しい人がちらほら。いやー、初参戦の永瀧さん、なおぽんがホンマ気持ちよくぶっ壊してくれたねー。永瀧さんとはベースで全然ジャズじゃないスローなドブルースで、なおぽんとは、Cantaloupe islandをギター2本で。やっぱギタリストならあんな燃えるようなギター弾いてみたいなぁ。・・・♪こんなフレーズ弾きたくっても、無理っ、燃焼型、ぽっぽっぽ♪・・・南部さん、今日はドラマーでした。（笑）じぶんのプレイの出来は別として、今日はやっててホンマに楽しいセッションやった。

Had a little to much to drink...

A new fiscal year. Good time to start something new I guess. So, I picked up this journal writing. I've thought of starting this kind of journal writing quite a few times. But, I always ended up thinking that my personal life isn't anything worth sharing to people. But now, I'm starting to think it really doesn't matter in this cyber society. If someone wants to criticize me or just laugh at me for uploading lame articles, just let them. As long as I'm careful not to offend anyone or hurt anyone's feeling, whether I can take the humiliation or not is all my problem. I also thought this journal writing may help overcoming the fear, my lack of confidence, something like the "stage fear" when you perform music in front of the audience, by exposing some of my life experience. Well, no idea how long this is going to last. hmmm, Let's see...

Work is rather slow as it has been for a month or so. After work, RD rehearsal at TACTRAX STUDIO for about an hour, then off to Mugiya. Typical Thursday routine. Lots of spring special dishes. Nao-pon came in and joined on our table. A very productive discussion on "COSM" home appliances such as V-Washing Machine, V-rice cooker etc. with all kinds of vintage modeling...洗濯機なら、衣類が程良く絡む仕上がりのビンテージ２層式モード（いややー！）、炊飯器なら、釜炊きモード、土鍋炊きモード（これはいいかも）などなど。
