Summer was over in a flash but not without some special trips to the ocean, cueing me for cooling temperatures, falling leaves and more obedience trials.
Being an Airedale of all seasons, I must confess, Autumn is hard to beat in New England.
Amongst a challenging season to our Gulf Coast friends, we've felt a certain strangeness in the aire, one atuned to our unpredictable weather. Global Warming. Not a day passes when we do not think of those effected by Katrina and Wilma.

Crisp Air, Colorful Landscape |
| Well, it's already early October and it's still green! We have twinges of color but with so much rain and warmth, Summer battles to hold on. My Mom insists on a tidy yard, so playing in leaves has become a park thing. Darn! I must admit though, doing my obedience practices on a carpet of perfect lawn is great. The cooler air makes me feel invigorated, charged up to work, etc., but I still like to play ball and chase chipmunks. |
And, speaking of chipmunks, I have this one little buddy who lives in our front shrubs. Like clock work, I can count on "Chip" to sit on the front steps, teasing me "nah-nah" you can't get me! We have a glass storm door. On nice days, I lay in the sun, awaiting my rodent friend. He probably thinks I am snoozing in the sunshine, but I'll let you in on my secret; I am expecting company on sunny days. The bold little guy comes as close to me as he can get. I swear, some days, he even waves at me!  |

| Days Darken Early |
It's now post daylight savings, our days are growing short. The leaves, despite Mom's best efforts are lost. They're blowing everywhere. We even had late October snow! Great fun.
Beefing up our
training, I'm prepping for late Autumn trials. I'll show in OB for awhile longer. Check out my new, custom article bag I'm sniffing. My Mom designed it- of course. The utility ring in '06 is my next move. And, agility!
