Science and Love.
I was running late in lab today. The picture above is a recording from a neuron in the hilar region of the hippocampus taken a few days ago. In contrast, I was able to record from an astrocyte for the first time today. As this will be a major part of my project, I was very excited and did not want to leave the rig (the set of equipment used in electrophysiology). I called Susan around 7pm, and told her that I was running late, and that I had meant to stop to get her flowers. She told me she’d rather have me home for dinner sooner than later...how awesome is that? We had a wonderful dinner of salmon, brown rice, and asparagus...and I know full well that a big belated Valentine’s is on the way!

More on physiology, astrocytes, and my new project in another post.
