Quincy

This is my belated "Happy New Year" and "have a wonderful holidays" entry. The new year started with a gawd awful flu for me. The day after the celebrations, i developed a bronchitis-like cough and was relegated to the bed for a few days. Managing to teach at Brighton Ski Resort the following weekend, i thought i was in the clear. However, I am developing a head cold now, and both nostrils are alternating between plugged and burning. If you've never tried phenylephrine HCl (1%) up your nose, let me tell you, you're missing out.

Here she is playing with a toy mouse. She was "home" for a day or two when this picture was taken (circa 12/24/05). Best guess is that she was born around 9/20/05. A couple of weeks later, she caught her first REAL mouse (hurray quincy!!). The mice have retreated, and we haven't seen another one since.

She loved hanging out underneath our Christmas tree. Strangely, she was more interested in the branches and fallen needles than the decorations themselves. Check out the ornament Quincy is posing next to!

2 things Quuncy loves is sleeping and playing. When she is asleep, you can lift her like a pancake. At night, she turns on her chain-saw like purring and dive bombs under the covers. Alternatively, when she gets too warm, or squished too many times, she comes up for air by sleeping on our chest/neck area and putting her face about a centimeter away from ours. And purrs. and repeatedly rubs her face on our chin, nose, mouth. This is kinda cute, but honestly, a little unsanitary. We're trying to teach her not to be such a "close-talker."

here she is napping....

and napping again...

and sleeping some more...

for some reason, she's fascinated with the bath tub...

she recently got her first taste of the outdoors. this was taken right before a mammoth storm dropped 6-8 inches of snow on the valley. I should note that all but the last picture (the one above) were taken by Susan, using her Nikon Coolpix 4200.

this is J. St., where we live. The red van on the right is parked almost in front of our house. This storm created near white-out conditions at the University for about 4 hours...This is around 4:30pm.

The token "Happy Holidays" picture.

Happy New Year, everybody. I will be updating more frequently, i promise.
